Catwash Records regular and underground french icon Chris Carrier brings the bounce via the old school with this new acid-flavoured ‘Shibari Menu’ EP and offers a complete mind-blowing package for his new release.

Riding on an hypnotic train siren, A1 ‘Gyaku ebi’ is a track that warps and rushes with carnal energy, handing out a groovy and solid teky track, set to ignite any night around. A2 ‘Newaza’ is an authentic ride to the past, a tribute to early Detroit techno, bleeping and squeaking on a solid groove, a track ready to slay dancefloors worldwide. B1 ‘Kataashi tsuri’ is propelled by Carrier’s undying love for the analogue sound and his skillfull use of unfamous 303 bass-synthetizer, reminding us that Catwash is also acid. The result is a strong and hypnotic bubbling acid journey, ready to rumble anybody. B2 ‘Kinbaku’ perfectly ends the vinyl edition with a precise tech-house cut riding on bone-shaking beats and a soaring boat siren, resulting in a deep and groovy cut. Finally, the digital-only ‘Kataashi tsuri’ dub version makes the acid disappear to put the focus more on the boucing beats and groovy bass, handing out a deeper vision of this percussive tune.

Underground french icon Chris Carrier is one of those rare kinds of artists that have an omnipresent quality and yet do not seek to make their name bigger than the music itself. You may not even know it but there is a 99% chance you have experienced some dancefloor-based elation at the hands of the Parisian maestro. Never chasing the limelight, almost darting around it in all manner of guises and musical styles, Carrier is nevertheless revered today as one of the most prolific and gifted producers on the dance scene today.

Born in 2005, Catwash Records knows since the very beginning how to pick up good and fency tracks and made its way signing artists from different scenes all across the world. Avoiding a restricting genre the selection of talented products is quite easy with brilliant DJs & artists like Boris Werner, Sammy Dee, Chris Carrier, Catwash (band), Shaun Reeves, Lee Curtiss, Gauthier DM, Gulivert, Lula Circus, William Kouam Djoko, Le Chien Perdu or even DJ W!LD, the label owner… Add to this the Hors Série’ side of the label which gives fresh and new sounds still in the same colours but with an extra shiny feeling that reminds you that ‘Catwash’ soul is not so far…

After all, the brand freshly released a new record imprint, The W Label, a special place created for DJ W!LD and friends, which motto is ‘we have wild records’. The W Label hosts since then DJ W!LDs debut album ‘Palace’, and remix features by Art Department, Chris Carrier, DJ Sneak, Fries & Bridges, Gauthier DM, Jay Haze, Kerri Chandler, Radio Slave and SIS.
