Naveen G

The best BPM day performance goes to Naveen G (listed Productions). listed’s Cityfox showcase at Mamita’s beach club was incredible and Naveen G really set it off. Naveen G sparked a sonic vibe that merged with white sand, lime-blue water, warm sun, cool breeze and heavenly ease. For your copy of this mix, stay tuned to the 36th Episode of the GXG House Podcast Series as Naveen blesses us with it there.

Adultnapper & Anthony Collins

Another best BPM day performance goes to Adultnapper & Anthony Collins from the Life and Death VS Scissor Thread Label Showcase at Mamitas Beach Club. Together they delivered a moody, jazzy, tech house set which felt elegant and sophisticated. Both are acts to keep your ears on in 2012.

Best Night Performances

Richie Hawtin

The best BPM night performance goes to Richie Hawtin from his M_nus party at Blue Parrot. Richie’s music was laced with his very own progy-techno genre. Richie developed a deep connection with the crowd early on and before we knew it, he had us in the palm of his hand. He handled it accordingly, taking full advantage and totally messing with our minds and bodies. His bass was hitting frequencies, pitches and spaces that I didn’t know were possible. It was like hearing an underworld orchestra with glimpses of light and mind bending flight. I recall having moments of manic dance pleasure mixed with catharsis from what the @#$% am I hearing. And in retrospect it was Richie doing what he does best: delivering authentic techno. After all, he is the epicenter of the genre and techno god.

Wolf + Lamb VS Soul Clap

Another best BPM night performance goes to Wolf + Lamb versus Soul Clap from La Santanera. When it comes to classy underground house music both Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap are the cats meow. This one of a kind tag set was graced by live vocals and live trumpet by Greg Paulus from No Regular Play. This was true house music and damn it felt good.
